Man-made hormones called bioidentical hormones are used to treat low or unbalanced hormonal levels. Bioidentical Hormones resemble the hormones that are created naturally in both men and women's bodies. The hormonal imbalance and its effects on the body and inside of it are treated with bioidentical hormones. Men typically experience hormone imbalance after the age of 40.
Bioidentical Hormones are defined as synthetic hormones that share the same molecular make-up and chemical composition as endogenous human hormones. The production of bioidentical hormones comes from plant sources like soybeans and yams. As they are created in a laboratory to be biologically identical in structure and function to the hormones produced in the body, these are in some ways regarded as natural. Estrogen (estradiol, estriol, and estrone), progesterone, testosterone, and dehydroepiandrosterone are examples of bioidentical hormones (DHEA). The Bioidentical Hormones can be made in a variety of forms, including pills, patches, injectables, creams, and more. For patients who have been found to have low hormone levels or a hormone imbalance, these hormones are used as a treatment alternative. Such bioidentical hormones are available to patients in two different forms: first, as an FDA (Food and Drug Administration)-approved preparation that is made under strict supervision and distributed by retail pharmacies; or second, from compounding pharmacies, where the hormones are transformed from their original form into a tailored form in accordance with the patient's needs. Bioidentical Hormones, which are used to treat hormone deficiency, are very comparable to those produced by the human body. When prescribed by a doctor, bioidentical hormones are either already manufactured or created by a pharmacist. The majority of the time, bioidentical hormone therapy are utilised to address menopausal symptoms and issues like hot flashes, nocturnal sweats, weight gain, mood swings, dry vagina, fatigue, and so on. The use of hormones with additional levels that are chemically similar to the hormones naturally produced by the human body is known as bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT). It is frequently used to treat the symptoms of menopause, perimenopause, and postmenopause in women, as well as andropause in males. It is also known as bio-identical hormone treatment (BHT) or natural hormone therapy. The majority of naturally occurring plant sterols used to make bio-identical hormones are obtained from soy or wild yams. "Phyto-hormones" are precursor molecules found in plants like soy and wild yam that are easily transformed into bio-identical hormones like estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, etc. These are then transported to a lab where they are chemically transformed, or semi-synthesised, into hormones that are identical to and indistinguishable from the body's own.
